Performance and verification policy
What evidence a performance figure must carry before it appears anywhere on this site.
The standard
A figure may be published only with a source, a date it was seen, the period it covers, and a statement of who produced it. Figures failing any of those conditions are described as claims, not results.
Why self-reported figures are weak
Self-reported records can omit losing periods, exclude spread and commission, use unrealistic fills, or reset after a drawdown. None of that is visible from a headline percentage.
- Survivorship: discontinued strategies quietly disappear from the record.
- Execution: signal prices are not the prices a reader would obtain.
- Sizing: percentage returns depend entirely on undisclosed risk per trade.
Reader guidance
Treat any advertised performance figure as marketing until you can inspect the underlying record yourself, including the losing periods.
